The social media has been awash with the news that Sanusi Lamido Sanusi - the disgraced and sacked CBN governor may be the next emir. Some have already crowned him the emir on Facebook/Twitter while other misguided and ignorant Nigerians are masturbating on how scared President Jonathan would be on such outcome.
Please, pardon my questions, I really want to know the political influence the Emir of Kano holds? How does it affect people that are not even from Kano on who becomes the Emir of Kano? How strong is this influence, that would make Goodluck Jonathan - a president that was elected by 22 million Nigerians to be scared of an Emir of a barren land like Kano (a state that cannot generate more than N10bn in a year, but receives N34bn monthly) - who will be appointed by Kwankwaso - a Janjaweed APC governor on the recommendation of the so-called king makers?
Ignorance does not excuse stupidity! In today's Nigeria, due to ravaging ignorance, lots of people now see everything from political party perspective - "we against them"; PDP Vs. APC; GEJ Vs. North. Some people are ready to dine with the Devil if that would annoy one Goodluck Jonathan. That is the sorry state this Lugardian fraud has reached.
For those that don't know, whatever influence the emirate has, the oil flowing in the SS/SE made it possible. Without this oil money, those emirates would be shut down for obvious reasons. Kano state like other core northern states are barren land inhabited by lazy illiterates - who not only lack creativity but also inventiveness. So, even if they decide to abandon the oil-based economy we're running on, they cannot run a knowledge-based economy. Ebonyi state with all her challenges generates more IGR than all the states in the north including Kano. So, why this noise? Are some people still suffering from the after-effects of Hausa/Fulani enslavement?
Oh! I heard you say agriculture., but remember that we buy their agricultural produces while the oil money is shared freely - so you know the difference now or are they giving you their cows/tomatoes etc., free?
The emir is just like the reverend Eze/Igwe/Obi, Oba etc., that you have in your various states. They are traditional rulers. So, I'm at lost why the president of the federal republic - the C-in-C would be afraid of a mere traditional ruler. If he gets himself involved in politics, he would be disposed and taught a lesson that politics is a dirty game. Gov. Rochas just did that in Imo state. Abacha did the same to the former Sultan of Sokoto, Maccido.
The little difference between the Ezes/Igwes/Obas and Emirs is just that the emirs, due to their Expansionism religion masqueraded as Islam - have lots of brainwashed and gullible people at their disposal that can be unleashed on innocent citizens and cause terror that would send fear into the hearts of people. Or they can simply enter into agreement with the US/UK - they have always do, since the West are fond of always dealing with those they can easily cheat and deceive.
Jonathan can visit Kano only if he likes. He doesn't need the emir of Kano to be reelected. In 2011, with all the cordial relationship he had with the late emir coupled with Kwankwaso being a PDP governor then, he lost in Kano. He got a mere 16.4%. Did that make he to lose the election? No, he polled over 22 million votes.
Jonathan will win or lose his reelection in three zones: SE, SS and of course NC. These 3 zones he has already captured even before the election. Whatever he gets from NW/NE will definitely get him reelected. In SW, all depends on who APC fields and also the extend the APC governors would push Tinubu. If they push him to the wall, he would repeat what he did in 2007 and 2011.
So, stop messing my newsfeed by according undeserved respect to immigrant Fulanis from Senegal.
I want Sanusi Lamido Sanusi to be made the emir of Kano, Katsina, Kaduna, Bauchi and also the Sultan of Sokoto, if that is possible, so that we would see the things he would do to this govt. Nonsense!
