Controversial forward, Luis Suarez could sign for Barcelona within the next 48 hours after the Catalan side agreed an £80 million deal with Liverpool for the striker.
The Catalan side had been locked in negotiations with Liverpool over the transfer of Uruguayan for some days but they were unable to reach a conclusion.
Initially, Barcelona tabled a £50 million cash and player bid for Suarez with Chilean forward, Alexis Sanchez making the switch to Anfield. However, Sanchez turned down the proposed to Liverpool with reports suggesting that he prefers a transfer to Arsenal instead.
After the collapse of the player plus cash deal, Barcelona were believed to have made a £73 million bid for the forward on Thursday, however, Liverpool rejected the deal stating that it was below their valuation.
Both clubs finally reached an agreement on Friday and it is believed that Suarez will likely complete the transfer on or before Monday.
However, if the deal is finally completed Barcelona fans will not have the pleasure of seeing the Uruguay international in action until October has he is currently serving a FIFA imposed four months ban for biting Italian defender, Giogio Chielini while playing for Uruguay against Italy at the World Cup.
